About Eric Garland

Career intelligence professional Eric Garland is the Executive Director of Competitive Futures. He founded the firm in 2002 to unify the disciplines of competitive intelligence and technology foresight to provide leaders of business and government with a more holistic view of their organizations’ futures. He is the author of Future Inc.: How Businesses Can Anticipate and Profit from What’s NEXT (AMACOM, 2007) and How to Predict the Future…and WIN! (Wallingford, 2011), as well as the host of Game Theory Today on YouTube. 

Garland is known throughout the world as an educator, teaching everyone from school kids to CEOs how to think about their futures using the tools of the intelligence profession. He was elevated to the rank of Fellow in 2018 by the Council of Competitive Intelligence Professionals, the senior rank of the trade. He was diplomatically sanctioned in 2022 by Vladimir Putin for his work defending the United States against hostile foreign interference.
